Full product descriptionDiscover the true taste of nature – unrefined Organic Shea Butter from the untouched nature of tropical Uganda. With its creamy texture and delicate nutty flavor, it will win you over when preparing both sweet and savory dishes. In African cuisine, it has been valued for centuries as a nutritious and richly flavored ingredient for making chocolates, pralines, and other delicacies.
Main benefits:
- High content of unsaturated fatty acids
- An excellent plant-based alternative to conventional fats
- Suitable for preparing both sweet and savory dishes
Unrefined Organic Shea Butter is unique in that it comes from a rare variety of the African shea tree (Vitellaria Nilotica), also known as karité or shea. The shea tree grows in the savannah regions of East Africa and, compared to the commonly available West African shea tree (Vitellaria Paradoxa), contains a much higher amount of beneficial substances.
The shea tree bears fruit only once a year, and only after reaching the age of 15. Its fruits ripen during a short period from April to June. Beneath the shell of the fruit lies a kernel with high nutritional value and vitamins, from which shea butter is obtained.
Production
The production of Organic Shea Butter involves local farmers and their families in the spirit of fair trade. The cultivation of shea trees and the production of shea butter are designed to positively support the natural biorhythms of local fauna and flora and not burden the environment.
Use
Cooking: Shea butter can be excellently used instead of cream or olive oil as a base for sauces. It beautifully enhances the aroma of pasta, rice, potatoes, or vegetables. By adding garlic and spring onions, you can create a simple and flavorful sauce that pairs well with many dishes.
Baking: When baking chocolate cookies, Christmas treats, or festive cakes, you can fully rely on shea butter, which can replace regular butter, oil, and cocoa butter. Use it in the same quantity specified in the recipe. If you are not entirely sure about the delicate nutty flavor of shea butter, replace conventional butter only partially.
Frying: Shea butter pairs wonderfully with sweet recipes such as pancakes, fritters, and waffles. The preparation process is the same as with regular butter. Gently melt the Organic Shea Butter over low heat and then fry your favorite treats. You can also confidently use it for savory dishes. Try lightly sautéed vegetables or French toast.
TIP: Spread the butter on bread or toast instead of regular butter as a vegan and healthy alternative. By adding honey or jam, you can create a delightful culinary experience.
