Full product descriptionThis high-quality Sidamo variety comes from the cradle of coffee – Ethiopia. Thanks to gentle processing (wet method) and medium roasting, this coffee retains its exceptional flavor.
- Suitable for espresso as well as filter brewing
- 100% Arabica
- Light nutty and fruity notes
- Delicate acidity, medium-full to velvety body
Whole bean 100% Arabica coffee originates from the Bensa area in the Sidamo region, located in southern Ethiopia. Coffee plants are grown at an altitude of around 2,200 m above sea level, which gives the coffee a delicate and refined flavor profile. The coffee features a gentle, well-balanced acidity with fruity notes reminiscent of citrus and berries, typical of high-altitude Ethiopian coffees. Its body is medium-full to velvety, with a smooth texture that leaves an elegant and clean impression on the palate. The flavor profile is complemented by subtle sweetness and floral aroma, highlighting the natural complexity of this specialty coffee.
The beans are processed using the gentle wet method at the Ayla station, which specializes in producing top-quality specialty coffee. This washing station is known for its strict control of every processing stage, thanks to which its coffee ranks among the best Ethiopian Arabicas.
DID YOU KNOW: The coffee is grown by local smallholder farmers, who, thanks to Fair Trade certification, receive fair compensation and stable working conditions. This helps improve the quality of life in local communities.
Processing:
The coffee is processed using the so-called wet method – a traditional technique. Coffee cherries are first pulped to remove the skin and pulp and then fermented in water. This process helps enhance the clarity of flavor, fruity notes, and delicate acidity of the final coffee. After fermentation, the beans are thoroughly washed and then sun-dried. This method helps develop the natural fruity notes, clean flavor profile, and gentle acidity that are so characteristic of Ethiopian coffees.
